JUMP and Resilience Education Join the Second Chance Business Coalition as Partners
National Leaders Add Expertise and the Voice of Lived Experience to Advance Second Chance Employment Opportunities

Washington, DC — November 12, 2025 — The Second Chance Business Coalition (SCBC) today announced that JUMP (Justice and Upward Mobility Project) and Resilience Education have joined the Coalition as partners. The additions strengthen the SCBC’s efforts to help large employers build their workforces by creating career opportunities for individuals with criminal records.

“JUMP and Resilience Education are highly respected national leaders in second chance employment, and their experience and perspective will advance the SCBC’s long-term strategic impact,” said Dane Linn, Senior Vice President of Corporate Initiatives at Business Roundtable, a founding SCBC partner. “Our work together will help create opportunity for the nearly 80 million Americans with a criminal record and help employers find the motivated, talented employees they need to thrive.”

JUMP, championed by Larry Miller, Chairman of the Jordan Brand at Nike, leverages the power and influence of sports and entertainment to fundamentally reshape public narratives, turn stigma into opportunity and create employment pathways for the millions of Americans impacted by the criminal justice system. As a new partner, JUMP will work alongside the 54 member companies of the SCBC to advance its work to shift perceptions around second chance hiring and ensure that those with lived experience play a central role in shaping the conversation.

“Far too often, those impacted by the justice system are denied the chance to move beyond their past and realize their full potential,” said Larry Miller, Founder of Justice and Upward Mobility Project (JUMP) and Chairman of the Jordan Brand at Nike. “That was very much the case with my own story, and I’m proof that a second chance can change the entire trajectory of a life. I’m proud that JUMP will partner with the Second Chance Business Coalition in supporting career pathways for people with records. Upward mobility doesn’t stop with one person — together we can create economic opportunities that span generations.”

Resilience Education has equipped thousands of incarcerated and formerly incarcerated individuals with business education and entrepreneurial skills to support successful reentry and long-term career growth. Through programs delivered in correctional facilities, online via the Resilient Professional Community and in partnership with leading business schools, Resilience Education prepares individuals to contribute meaningfully to workplaces and communities upon their release.

“Resilience Education is proud to join forces with the SCBC to improve economic opportunities for people with a criminal record,” said Tierney Fairchild, Executive Director and Co-Founder of Resilience Education. “Our unique education model is designed to both empower second chance talent and build a strong network of allies. Combining our efforts with the SCBC allows us to help countless individuals develop the skills and confidence needed to build meaningful careers — strengthening business and the entire economy in the process.”

The SCBC invites large employers to explore the business case for second chance employment and consider joining the Coalition to strengthen their comprehensive talent strategies. Please contact the SCBC if you already have a second chance employment program or want to learn more.
