Second Chance Business Coalition Tops 40 Member Companies
Releases New Community-Partners Map and Onramps Guide for Companies of All Sizes

Washington, DC, April 26, 2022 – The Second Chance Business Coalition (SCBC) today announced that American Airlines, BorgWarner, Deloitte, Kelly Services, PayPal, Randstad and United Airlines have recently joined the nationwide effort to create greater economic opportunity for the approximately 80 million Americans with criminal records, bringing total SCBC membership to 42 large companies.

Celebrating its first anniversary during this Second Chance Month, the Coalition has also released two new, publicly available tools to help employers of all sizes navigate second chance hiring and advance economic opportunities for people with criminal records:

  • The SCBC Community Partners Map helps employers identify and connect with community-based and public organizations supporting second chances. The interactive tool includes over 600 nonprofit and governmental partners across 45 of the top job markets in the United States that provide job readiness programming, re-entry services and/or skills training to people with criminal records.

  • The SCBC Onramps Guide offers 100 action steps to drive the conversation about second chance practices in companies or organizations of all sizes. Stretching across all aspects of the operation – from human resources to communications to DE&I – the guide details a wide range of proven pathways to establishing inclusive workforce strategies. The guide also includes actions beyond employment processes that can drive community-wide progress toward second chance opportunities.

The SCBC promotes the benefits of second chance employment and provides major employers with a set of tools, relationships and expertise to provide career and economic opportunities to people with criminal records. It launched in April 2021 with 29 large employers focused on advancing second chances.

The full membership of the SCBC now includes Accenture, Allstate, American Airlines, Aon, AT&T, Bank of America, Best Buy, BorgWarner, Cisco, CVS Health, Deloitte, DICK’S Sporting Goods, Eaton, Gap Inc., General Motors, The Home Depot, JPMorgan Chase & Co., Kelly Services, Koch Industries, Kroger, LKQ Corporation, Lowe’s, Mastercard, McDonald’s, Micron Technology, Microsoft, PayPal, PepsiCo, Procter & Gamble, Prudential Financial, Inc., Randstad, Schnitzer Steel Industries, Target, Texas Instruments Incorporated, Union Pacific, United Airlines, Verizon Communications, Virgin, Visa, Vistra Corp., Walgreens Boots Alliance and Walmart.
