Kentucky
Overview
The Kentucky Comeback, an initiative of the Kentucky Chamber, launched the Fair Chance Academy in May 2022. The Academy provides businesses with training and experiences to adopt fair chance workplace practices that support transformational employment outcomes.
The Kentucky Chamber operates multiple initiatives aimed at assisting businesses in developing recovery-friendly work environments, supporting Kentuckians struggling with substance use disorder and engaging stakeholders interested in criminal justice reform.
Employer Engagement and Support
Through criminal justice reform efforts, Kentucky Comeback has driven fair chance outcomes by partnering with over 100 participants across the initial four business cohorts. Participants receive training and guidance on working with individuals with criminal records and earn fair chance certification upon completion.
Testimonials and Video Resources
The Kentucky Chamber has created the Fair Chance Series, documenting experiences of prominent employer graduates from the Fair Chance Academy. This video series demonstrates how fair chance hiring motivates businesses to develop recovery-friendly work environments and create safer communities.
