The following criteria helps illustrate how local community organizations approach their service delivery model and operations. It was developed to inform companies about programming and partnership opportunities in their local communities and to help foster stronger collaborations between community organizations and employers. The criteria can help companies assess the fit and alignment of reentry and workforce development organizations to ensure the growth and implementation of partnerships with community organizations.

Re-entry Programming


Refers to a unique set of programs or services that specifically support reintegration into the community, such as housing, transportation, and healthcare. While many organizations may serve people who have been justice-impacted, this category refers to programming addressing barriers to successful reentry.

Employer Partnerships


Refers to an organization's history and track record partnering with employers to recruit candidates, assess their employment-readiness, and effectively connect them with jobs and careers.

Work Readiness Training


Refers to the set of activities and programs for clients that help prepare for success in employment, which may include: life skills courses, setting expectations, resume/cover letter writing, career exploration, interview skills, basic digital literacy, and more.

Job Retention Support


Refers to an organization's ability to provide follow-on services after candidates are placed in a job, including case management, employer supports, and retention incentives. Some of these services might include help navigating ongoing reentry challenges that employees may face after they begin their jobs.

Industry-specific Training


Refers to an organization's experience and capacity to develop training and credentialing programs specific to certain sectors or industries. These industries are further detailed in the organizational profiles.
